EL PALMAR, COLÓN, ENTRE RIOS PROVINCE

El Palmar National Park, created in 1966 with the objective of protecting a big area of palm trees, is located in the central-eastern province of Entre Rios, Argentina.

It protects a natural forest called “palmar de yatay” species that live from 200 to 400 years.

Together with a large number of bushes and situated on the banks of the Uruguay river, they create an extraordinary landscape.

With a total length of 8500 square metres, the protected area is characterized as representative of the ecoregion cord. Its important because its vegetation also protects some highly endangered species typical of grasslands, such as reptiles, small rodents, the bobcat foxes and birds.

There are also services and facilities for visitors: camping sites, shops, tourism offices, travel agencies, hostels, means of transport, beaches and special viewpoints for bird-watching.
